How to Check If Honey is Pure or Fake
Not all honey in stores is 100% pure. Here are 3 easy ways to test it at home:
Water Test – Add a spoon of honey to a glass of water.
Pure honey = Sinks and settles at the bottom.
Fake honey = Dissolves quickly.
Thumb Test – Put a drop of honey on your thumb.
Pure honey = Stays in place, thick and sticky.
Fake honey = Spreads or runs off.
Flame Test – Dip a cotton wick in honey and try lighting it.
Pure honey = Burns clean
Fake honey = Won’t ignite due to moisture/adulteration
