Transforming vintage milk glass vases into a stunning tiered centerpiece is a creative way to upcycle thrift store finds into an elegant home decor piece. By stacking these vases with a few additional thrift store items, you can create a sophisticated display that looks expensive but is budget-friendly. This DIY project offers a unique way to showcase floral arrangements, candles, or seasonal decor, enhancing any dining table or mantelpiece with a touch of vintage charm.
Place the finished tiered centerpiece in the center of a dining table or on a mantel to catch the eye. Pair it with neutral or pastel-colored table linens and dinnerware to emphasize the white milk glass’s delicate texture. Incorporate seasonal flowers or greenery to add a pop of color and contrast. For a cohesive look, surround the centerpiece with other vintage or antique-inspired items, like candlesticks or small ceramic figures, to enhance its elegant appeal.
Vintage Milk Glass Tiered Centerpiece

Materials
3 vintage milk glass vases of varying heights
1 round thrift store mirror (diameter slightly larger than the base of the largest vase)
1 small thrift store plate or shallow bowl (slightly smaller than the base of the smallest vase)
1 tube of clear, strong craft adhesive or glue
1 thrift store candlestick or pedestal base (sturdy and slightly smaller than the base of the largest vase)
Directions
1. Lay out the three milk glass vases, ensuring they are clean and free of any dust or debris.
2. Arrange the vases in order of height. Start with the tallest vase as the base, and then use the medium and smallest vases for the middle and top tiers, respectively.
3. Place the round mirror on a flat surface and position the tallest vase in the center of the mirror. Apply a generous amount of craft adhesive to the bottom rim of the vase, securing it to the mirror.
4. Once the adhesive has set, position the thrift store candlestick or pedestal base on top of the tallest vase. Apply adhesive to the top of the vase and base of the candlestick to secure them together.
5. Place the medium vase on top of the candlestick, applying adhesive to secure the vase to the candlestick.
6. Finally, position the small thrift store plate or shallow bowl on top of the medium vase. Apply adhesive to the bottom of the smallest vase and place it in the center of the plate, securing it firmly.
7. Allow the entire structure to dry thoroughly according to the adhesive’s instructions before moving.

Variations & Tips
To customize this tiered centerpiece, consider experimenting with different milk glass shapes and patterns to add more visual interest. For a pop of color, use colored milk glass or incorporate colorful florals into the top tier vase. Alternatively, swap the mirror base for a wooden or metal tray to suit different interior styles. This allows the centerpiece to blend seamlessly with rustic or industrial decor themes while maintaining its vintage charm.
